Supreme Star - The Political Boss

"Action!". screamed the man as the "Supreme Star" made his stylish entry wearing sun-glasses. The crowd started clapping even before his performance started. He was so close to humans that they never referred him as a "monkey". He jumped, climbed ropes, frightened and amused children. Coins and currency notes were flying at him. After the show of 15 min, the crowd left talking about his eclat. His owner collected all the money and gifted him tasty bananas.

 "Have everyone arrived?". The lion interrogated. It was an important meeting to decide the next Chief Minister of the forest. Lion was accompanied by tiger and leopard to make the all important decision.

"The present situation in our forest is the worst in our history", the lion started as everyone nodded in agreement. "Those who feel they are suitable for the post can come and seek their votes", the lion left the stage for the animals to talk.

The crowd was noisy, but no one came on stage before a small tortoise broke the crowd's jinx.

"My dad has worked hard for the welfare of this forest for the past 60 years. Our family is the oldest of all and we have the love for the forest more than anyone. As my dad is ill, he sent me on his behalf to take care of this forest and continue his service.". The little tortoise left.

The people were bored and unimpressed as donkey walked to the stage. He worshiped the photo of the polar bear in his hand and addressed the crowd. " My chivalrous goddess served the animals in our forest so well for the past 6 years. Her death is a huge loss to us. I want to carry forward the wishes of our mother and serve you all. I also promise that black bear family will not be allowed in the administration.". he finished his talk.

Porcupine's effort to impress in the name of the eagle, the leader of the biggest jungle, hippopotamus's unrelated talk and hyena's effort to make partnerships, all ended on a funny note.

There was a silence of sorrow in the crowd. The "Supreme Star" thought it was the right time for him to enter the race of power and he climbed the stage to address the crowd.

"I think God has decided my entry to serve you all. As you all know I'm very popular among the humans. The love they have on me will certainly help you all from escaping the tortures. God will decide my future and I leave it in your hands to decide if god's decision is right or not.". the monkey left.

After so many disappointing talks the animals felt the love of humans towards the monkey will be the best solution. Sensing the mood, the tiger interrupted. "Mates, the leader we are looking for should improve our life standard. Their popularity should have been of service to animals and not by any other means. I would like you all to think well before you decide. Else the situation will exacerbate."

Tiger's words fell on deaf ears. The process to elect the new CM was accelerated and in two days monkey was made the CM of the forest. The tiger left the forest in anger and disappointment.

Ten years later, tiger returned to the same place. Green trees were evolved to tall white buildings, lakes were dry and were used as the city's big bin. A man shouted "Tiger", and in seconds few other men came with gun firing. The tiger was shot for "entering the human land". The tiger fell on the ground as a peacock came, stood on the tiger.

"What happened?". the tiger asked.

 Peacock replied with tears."On first meeting the monkey amused the humans with dances and stunts. All were happy. But he was illiterate on our problems and could not handle them correctly. In just a week he left to the snowy mountains in search of a serene environment to relieve from his stress. He returned and continued his old job of amusing humans for food, leaving the forest. And then on that black day....." two bullets hit their respective targets, leaving both peacock and tiger dead.

"That's done. No more animals", rejoiced humans as the "Supreme Star" was having his share of bananas on the tree top seeing the happenings in Tamil Nadu.
